Verse Of The Day : And they did this not just as we had hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God. 2 Corinthians 8:5

LISTEN : Are you wondering why you’re finding it difficult to do certain things for God and others? It’s because, you’ve not yet given yourself to God. God wants you, not part of you. He wants your heart before your gifts. Your giving to God can’t be complete or genuine without your dedication to Him. Giving is useless where the heart is absent. Until your heart is dedicated to God, your giving can’t please Him. My dear, God wants your heart as much as He wants you to give to His cause in the earth. As a matter of fact, you can’t replace dedication with giving. Each has its place in your walk with God. One must come before the other; your heart must come first before your gift. What you give is secondary to your relationship to God. When your heart is completely dedicated to God, nothing will be too big to give to His glory. Beloved, you’ll struggle with giving when your heart is still struggling to surrender to God. But when your heart is committed to God, even poverty can’t be an excuse to giving. In his message to his audience, Apostle Paul commended the churches of Macedonia, who in spite of their poverty, gave generously to the welfare of the suffering saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-2). The Bible recorded that, they (churches of Macedonia) voluntarily gave according to their means and beyond their means (v.3). Isn’t that amazing? But how were they able to do that in poverty? The answer is simple, the Bible says, “… they gave themselves first to the Lord…” (2 Corinthians 8:5). They first dedicated themselves to God before they were attracted to His cause. My dear, you can’t give God your hands except your heart is with Him. So, surrender your heart to Him today. Remember, God wants you, not just your gifts. Be wise!

Bible Verse : I will love you, O LORD, my strength. Psalms 18:1

LISTEN : God’s desires for us is to love Him. Unfortunately for some of us, our love is on something else. My dear, what consumes your heart? Is it the desire to love God or to love the world? In our Bible verse, David’s ultimate desire was to love God. Like David, can you declare your love for God today? Can your family declare her love and loyalty to God? Can you boldly and genuinely say, “I will love you O LORD?” God is pleased when His creation acknowledged Him as their strength. He is happy when we love Him above all else. Beloved, your love for God is measured by what you’re willing to sacrifice to gain Him: it is measured by how much you can obey and serve Him. Our love for God is complete when we no longer resist Him, but joyfully serve, obey, trust and follow His will without excuses. Like David, let’s love the LORD and trust Him as our strength; because when the LORD is our strength, victory is guaranteed. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to love you always as long as I live, amen.
