Verse Of The Day : If a man dies, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes. Job 14:14

LISTEN : A stranger met a depressed man who was apparently consumed by worries and asked him, “Sir, why are you like this? Don’t you love your life?” The depressed man replied, “Life you said? Do I have a life? I lost my life the day I lost my only son and my business to fire disaster.” “So sorry!” The stranger said. Furthermore, he said, “Sir, I know you’re meeting me for the first time. But can I be your friend? I understand perfectly what you’re going through because I have been there. I lost my family several years ago to a ghastly autocrash. I thought my world had come to an end until a man told me what to do to overcome. I did just that, and today, I’m a happy man with a family.” In curiosity the depressed man said,” Please tell me what you did and I will do just that.” With a smile the stranger said, “To experience a turnaround of your present situation, you must do the following : 1). Determine never to give up on life. 2). Realise that, your miserable death will accomplish nothing for you. 3). Acknowledge that, if you die now in this situation you’ve lost everything. 4). Fix what you can fix and leave what you can’t to God. 5). Wait for the salvation of the LORD. 6). Encourage yourself in God and move on with your life.” The depressed man heed the advice. Few years later, God turned around his situation. My dear, I know you’re the one God is talking to right now. Please don’t hurt yourself. God sees your predicaments and will surely deliver you (1 Peter 5:7). Beloved, if you’re determined to live in spite of your situation, you’ll surely outlast your troubles. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Jabez called out to the God of Israel, “If only you would greatly bless me and expand my territory! May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm so I might not endure pain!” God answered his prayer. 1 Chronicles 4:10

LISTEN : Don’t accept defeat, instead, pray like Jabez did. Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matt 7:7-8). What a wonderful promise we have in this! Jabez trusted God with his misery and God heard him. He prayed and he received. He made specific requests and got specific answers. Our verse of the day says, “Jabez called out to the God of Israel, ‘If only you would greatly bless me and expand my territory! May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm so I might not endure pain!’ God answered his prayer.” (1 Chronicles 4:10). Perhaps, your situation is similar to Jabez’s. Like Jabez, life seems to be working against you. Your life seems to be dominated by pain, reproaches, tragedies and terrible experiences. My dear, don’t worry! Keep pouring out your heart to God. He’ll not abandon you. Just pray, certainly you’ll receive what you ask for. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, strengthen me to pray in faith and overcome every obstacle to my success in life, in Jesus’ name, amen.
