Author : Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day : Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
LISTEN : Faith in God is a source of strength. When you’re weak, confused and destitute, faith in God will fuel courage and releases strength for positive action and perseverance. Lack of faith in God makes people to be hasty and very greedy and ending up doing abominable things just to ‘succeed.’ My dear, be watchful and trust in God. Yes, put your confidence in Him in every situation. You’re not alone when you’re with God. God will never forsake you when you depend on Him. He promises to be with you at all times if you’re obedient and loyal to Him. So, don’t allow fear of the unknown to make you doubt His promises. Don’t allow fear to blind your eyes to the realities of the word of God. Never walk in fear, rather walk by faith. Faith in God will free you from the spirit of greed, and cause you to be content with what you have. Our verse of the day says, “Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5). Does it mean we should not desire or work for money? Should we be lazy and depend mainly on others? Of course not! The Bible encourages us to live without greed, but rather be content with what we have. That is, we should not have inordinate desire for money, but rather trust God as our provider, knowing that He will supply what we need if we work and trust in Him. This is why He said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) . Beloved, God won’t leave or forsake you. So, don’t do abominable things just to succeed. Remember, what you sow you’ll reap. Be wise!

TOPIC: GOD’S WORD GIVES LIFE AND PEACE
Bible Verse : As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby: 1 Peter 2:2
LISTEN : God’s word is life and everyone needs it. Like our physical food, we need God’s word to live. Hunger triggers appetite and makes us uncomfortable until we have eaten our fill. In hunger, nothing can make sense to us more than to take care of the hunger. In the same way, When we hunger and thirst after God and His righteousness, nothing will satisfy our hungry soul but God alone. Only His words can truly satisfy our spiritual needs. My dear, hunger for God begins when we realised our emptiness without Him. (John 15:5). We know we can’t survive without Him, just the same way we can’t survive without physical food. This is why we should desire His words. We should hunger for His word the way we hunger for physical food. God’s word is key to spiritual growth and maturity. We can’t attain God’s expectations if we don’t desire His words. Our Bible verse says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2:2). To be spiritually strong and mature, we must desire God’s word the way a baby would desire mother’s breast milk. Only with such desire can we be truly fed. (Psalms 84: 2 ; 42:1). Henceforth, delight in God’s word. Remember, God’s word gives life and peace. Be wise!
Prayer : Dear Lord, cause me to grow in faith and overcome the devil in Jesus’ name, amen.
