Author : Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day : You must make holy garments for your brother Aaron, for glory and for beauty. “For Aaron’s sons you are to make tunics, sashes, and headbands for glory and for beauty. Make for them linen undergarments to cover their naked bodies; they must cover from the waist to the thighs.” Exodus 28:2,40,42
LISTEN : When God chose Aaron and his sons as priests in Israel. He commanded Moses to make their clothing to serve for glory and beauty and for covering of their nakedness. And that should be the template for fashion design. That is, what we make to wear should make God happy. As we pursue beauty, we should equally be conscious of glory and modesty. Lately, fashion has taken a turn that has increasingly sponsored rape, infidelity and high rate of immorality in the world. My dear, be careful and pursue fashion with the fear of God. What is fashion? The dictionary defines fashion as “a popular or the latest style of clothing, hair, decoration or behaviour.” Everyone wants to look good. No doubt, it’s good to look good. However, we should look good with the fear of God. No matter how fashion crazy we are, we should dress modestly (1 Timothy 2:9,10). This means that we should not dress to reveal those sensitive parts of our body to attract sexual attention as it is the trend today. My dear, fashion is good, and it gives extra beauty and joy to life. But senseless approach to fashion is ungodly and a mark of folly and insensitivity to the will of God. We should honour our bodies because our bodies belong to God. And we should dress to glorify God and not just to demonstrate our beauty. Henceforth, never forget to pursue fashion with modesty and the fear of God. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Deliver me from my distress; rescue me from my suffering! Psalms 25:17
LISTEN : With God you can be free from your troubles. When you know God, you’ll understand life better. People cry and groan everyday because of troubles and suffering. But trouble and suffering are part of human existence. (Job 14:1). People experience trouble and suffering in areas such as, sickness, hardship, oppression, torment, persecution, injury, poverty, crisis, etc. Truly, no one is immune to trouble and suffering; everyone at one point or the other must have a taste of it. When trouble comes it appears like we’re not going to survive it, as a result, we panic and worry instead of praying to God for divine intervention. People are too quick to forget God and go in search of alternative “solution” when suffering seems to increase in their lives. Beloved, learn to call to God in your troubles. If your troubles and suffering increase, don’t worry, instead pray to Him. God’s ear is itching to hear your prayers. Cry to Him in your suffering like David cried saying, “Deliver me from my distress; rescue me from my suffering” (Psalms 25:17). David cried out to God because he knows that God will help him; and because he cried to Him, He delivered him. The Bible says this about him, “Surely he rescue me from all trouble, and I triumph over my enemies.”(Psalms 54:7). Beloved, are you faced with trials? Don’t panic, rather pray to God until He hears you. If you can pray, God can answer. Remember, you can be free from your troubles. Be wise!
Prayer : Dear Lord, I believe in you. Therefore, deliver me from my troubles, amen.
