Verse Of The Day : When Jesus heard this, he said, “This sickness will not lead to death, but to God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” John 11:4

LISTEN : God doesn’t find joy in hurting people. That’s why He heals our sicknesses and diseases without pay. Sicknesses and diseases hurt people. They make life miserable for people, rob them of joy and often deny them the opportunity to live and enjoy life. My dear, no one is excluded from problems of life. People fall sick no matter who they are. But God intervenes even when all hope of recovery is gone. Here this, Lazarus of Bethany, a friend of Jesus Christ was ill, and a message was sent to Jesus to come over to see him, and possibly heal him. (John 11:1-3). Afterwards Jesus said to His disciples, “This sickness will not lead to death, but to God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” (v.4). However, He delayed His trip to Bethany until His friend Lazarus was dead and buried. Few days after, He travelled to Bethany with His disciples to bring His friend back to life. Many people mocked and doubted Him, but when He arrived at the tomb, He called on God and Lazarus who was dead for four days came back to life. (vv. 4144). The case of Lazarus was a demonstration of God’s power and sovereignty over circumstances of this life. His power is unmatchable and no situation can resist Him. Therefore, no matter your situation or health challenges, here are four lessons to learn from Lazarus’ story: 1). If you can tell it to God He will give the solution. 2). God’s word prevails over situations. 3). Delay can’t change God’s purpose. 4). God is Glorified when you are healed and delivered from troubles. So cheer up! You’ll live, and not die. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Jesus said to them, “Have faith in God.” Mark 11 : 22

LISTEN : Peter just reminded Jesus of the fig tree He had cursed the previous day, noting that it had withered; but Jesus Christ replied, “Have faith in God.” I believe this was not the kind of answer Peter expected to receive. However, Jesus gave the answer because He wanted His disciples to learn a big lesson from the incident of the fig tree. He wants them to know that faith in God can make everything possible. When Peter expressed surprise over the withered fig tree, Jesus Christ in His reply challenged him to grow stronger in faith if he must walk in the realm of possibilities. When Jesus urged him to have faith in God, He was saying something like, “You shouldn’t be surprised that God did what I asked Him! You too must trust that God will do whatever you ask him to do!” In other words, He was challenging every believer in Christ Jesus to live in faith no matter the circumstance ; only until then can we receive what God has freely given to us. Beloved, the problem we have when we pray is not that there is no God to answer, but that there is no faith to receive. If there is faith to receive, nothing shall be impossible to us. (Mark 9:23).When there is no faith we limit ourselves. Henceforth, determine to grow your faith in God and you’ll grow in His grace.

Prayer : Dear Lord, in all situations, help me to put my trust in you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
