Verse Of The Day : They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31 (NET).
LISTEN : Just after Apostle Paul cast out spirit of divination from a young girl who followed them around and declaring them as servants of God. Her masters who earn income from her divination saw that their hope of gain was gone, came and seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the authorities; and accused them of throwing the land into confusion. Immediately, the Judges decided that they be beaten and thrown into prison (Acts 16:16-23). Paul and Silas were in chains in the prison but prayed and praised God instead. By their praises and prayers, God sent an earthquake and their chains were loosed and the prison doors flew open. When the jailor woke up from sleep and saw the doors opened, he reached for his sword to kill himself. But Paul said to him, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!” (Acts 16:28). Overwhelmed with what has happened, the jailor asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30). And Paul and Silas replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” (v.31).
Beloved, salvation is for you and your household. If you are saved, save others, especially your household. God wants you to save yourself and your family. He doesn’t want you to lose anyone to Satan. You are not expected to be careless with the salvation of your family members. As a matter of fact, it is a shame to be saved and not save others. If you want the best for your family in this life, won’t you want the best for them in eternity. If you can spend a fortune to give the best of anything to your children, can’t you spend time and energy to make them fulfill the purpose of God for their lives? My dear, the ultimate gift you could ever give to your family is the salvation of their soul. If you can save your household from the grip of Satan, you will be happy for the rest of your life. So, persuade them to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be glad you did. Be wise!

TOPIC : BEARING THE CROSS OF A HOLY LIFE

Bible Verse : Now in fact all who want to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Timothy 3:12
LISTEN : It is hard to live a holy life unless you are determined to carry your cross and follow Jesus. A holy life will attract persecution. To be persecuted is to be treated cruelly or unfairly especially because of your race or religious or political beliefs. No doubt, a society dominated by evil poses threats to the godly. Hence, anyone who is not determined will lose courage to travel alone in the “highway of righteousness.”A society that finds joy in evil and ungodliness will always hunt and torment the godly for living contrary to their (world’s) corrupt systems and values. However, those who want to live godly will not give up on striving to please God. My dear, don’t allow persecution for righteousness stop your desire to please God. Where evil reigns, righteousness should reign much more. Always remember that, standing up for Jesus Christ is what we are called to do (1 Peter 2:21). We may suffer temporarily for it, but we shall be eternally rewarded for enduring to the end. So, don’t faint when you suffer for Christ Jesus, instead, be happy and determined, knowing that, he who endures to the end shall be saved (see Matthew 24:13 ). Be wise!
Prayer : Heavenly Father, I thank you because you love righteousness. Therefore, help me to live righteously as long as I live, in Jesus’ name, amen!
