Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? Mark 4:41

LISTEN : I am sure you already know how devastating the effect of wind is. Regions where heavy wind (tornado, cyclone, etc.) had visited will tell you that, it is not an experience that should be repeated. As a matter of fact, heavy winds often claim lives, render people homeless, and leave many devastated and miserable. Similarly, the sea and other water bodies are no exceptions. They have equally done countless havocs to humanity. And have taken both lives and properties. Ask ship owners around the world, and they will tell you how many of their ships left the shore of their countries and never came back, including the Titanic, the British passenger liner that sank with many lives in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1912, after it struck an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. But there is a man who rules over the wind and the sea. The wind and the sea obey Him.

Who is this man that the sea and the wind obey? Hope you are eager to know him? His name is Jesus Christ. The only begotten Son of the only true and living God. He is the Master of the universe. When He speaks to the winds and seas of your life they will obey and not resist Him. When He rebuked the storm that came after Him and His disciples, the sea was calm (Mark 4:37-40); and that encounter left His disciples with great fear for Him, and they exclaimed, “What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mark 4:41). Beloved, what is the storm in your life? Like the disciples of Jesus Christ, take the case to Him; He cares that you are about to perish and will not permit your destruction (Isaiah 54:15,17). It is not possible for you to perish when you are on board with Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life. So, no matter the storm in your life, don’t surrender to fear and defeat; instead, rise in faith and confront it head on. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Don’t allow the troubles in your life to stop you, rather stop your troubles by your faith in God.
2. Stop living in fear and begin to walk in faith and dominion.
3. Acknowledge God as Master of the universe and don’t allow anyone to deceive you.
4. Surrender your fears to God and let Him take care of it.

Prayer : Dear Lord, I thank you because you are the Master of the universe. I surrender my problems to you today, in Jesus’ name, amen!

Reflection : Don’t be stopped by the storm in your life, rather stop your storm by the power of your faith.

Quote : “It is not possible for you to miss your way, walk in error, or perish, when you are on board with Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life.”

Faith Confession : Today, I confess that, all powers belong to God. Therefore, I will carry my problems to Him, amen!

Biblical Fact : Did you know Elizabeth was already six months pregnant when the angel of God visited Mary? (Luke 1:36).

Today In History : June 19, 1829 Sir Robert Peel introduces the Metropolitan Police Act 1829 into Parliament to establish a unified police force for London.

Stunning Fact : Did you know a jellyfish’s mouth is also its anus.

A Word Of Blessing : You will make a difference. May God bless you. In the name of Jesus Christ, I command every storm in your life to cease henceforth, amen!

Bible Verse : Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage – right up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:26-27

LISTEN : The signs of the second coming of our LORD Jesus Christ is evident today. Predictions of scriptures are virtually fulfilled. Sadly, lots of people, including insensitive Christians seem not to sense the danger that is facing the world. We are no different from the wicked and careless generation of Noah. We are not living as though, we perceive any danger. Many are living with so much carelessness. Our world today like that of Noah’s days, is characterised by busyness, carelessness, inordinate merriment, lavished marriage ceremonies, festivity and godlessness. There is no fear of God or concern for eternity. In the days of Noah people lived carelessly before the great flood, and never thought that tragedy could struck at anytime. Their businesses and lives were going on as usual; people were getting married, giving their children in marriage and doing businesses the same way we do today. Festivities and ceremonies went on as usual; life was just normal until the calamity struck and took them all away. My dear, are you ready for the coming of Jesus Christ? If not, hurry now and turn away from your evil ways, and you will escape the wrath of God. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, I thank you because my eyes are opened by your word. Help me to always be ready for the coming of Jesus Christ, amen!
