Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Know therefore that the LORD your God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations. Deuteronomy 7:9

LISTEN : God is faithful. He is the only faithful God. My dear, God is worthy of trust. No other god is as faithful as the Almighty God. He does not disappoint His own. He is as faithful as His word. God is faithful. What does it mean? It means that, God cannot lie. He is worthy of trust (see Numbers 23:19; Hebrews 6:18). Situations cannot change Him, but He can change situation. Beloved, God does not disappoint His faithful (Deuteronomy 7:9). No doubt, life may be miserable sometimes, but God’s word does the miracle that turns situations around. When God is involved, even delay cannot end in denial. Friend, you may experience a delay in God answering your prayers, but the delay will end in praise. God is faithful. However, there are certain things you must do to experience the faithfulness of God: you must love and fear God; and must be dedicated to Him. Besides, you must have love for service; be obedient to God, be faithful to Him; submit to His Spirit and live in line with His will. My dear, God is faithful and values faithfulness. As a matter of fact, He cannot invest in you until He has seen that your heart is dedicated to Him. The Bible says thus about Abraham: “You are the LORD God who chose Abram and brought him forth from Ur of the Chaldeans. You changed his name to Abraham. When you perceived that his heart was faithful toward you, you established a covenant with him to give his descendants the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, and the Girgashites. You have fulfilled your promise, for you are righteous.” (Nehemiah 9:7-8). Beloved, God wants to bless you; but He will not until your heart is completely dedicated to Him. When you grow in faithfulness You will not beg for the blessings of God. Be wise!

Bible Verse : My eyes stay open through the night watches, that I might meditate on your word. Psalms 119:148

LISTEN : A certain man told his friend thus: “Friend, I eagerly desire to do the will of God.” His friend replied, “It is a good desire; but If you desire to please God, then, you must first spend time in His words. It is His word that will reveal His will to you. Therefore, until you understand His word you cannot follow His will.” David understands this fact and therefore, denied himself some sleep just to meditate on the word of God as recorded in today’s Bible text. He did that because, he loves to do the will of God. David’s purpose of staying awake all night was not to attend to his domestic needs, worry over life’s circumstances, plot the downfall of his enemies, worry over wealth and prosperity of others, etc., but to meditate in the word of God. No wonder God called him “a man after my own heart” (Acts 13:22). He spent quality time in God’s word trying to find the will of God. In the same way, we should meditate in the word of God and train ourselves to do the will of God. Be wise!

Prayer : Blessed Father, I love to do your will. Therefore, help me to achieve this noble desire, in Jesus ‘ name, amen!
