Verse Of The Day : …the LORD is gracious and full of Compassion. Psalms 111:4

LISTEN : The world is an expression of God’s love and compassion (John 3:16). He loves us and feels our pain that is why He sacrificed His Son for our sins to save us. What a compassionate God! Man can be ungracious to man, but God is gracious to humanity. Man can equally be indifferent to the problems of others, but God is full of compassion. What is compassion? In a general sense, compassion is sympathy and concern for the sufferings of others and a desire to relieve or lessen such suffering. “It is loving to the point of really helping.” He who is compassionate suffers with the one who is suffering. My dear, compassion means, someone else’s heartbreak becomes your heartbreak. Another’s suffering becomes your suffering. Surely, genuine compassion will change the way we live. A compassionate person does not rejoice in the pain of others. He hurts when others hurt. He is restless with the pain of another and will not rest until something is done. He feels the pain of others and does not add to their woes by his own actions. Beloved, God is full of compassion and wants us to be compassionate too. My dear, is there someone you know that is suffering? And you know you can show some pity and kindness? Please don’t hesitate to help. A heart of compassion is a heart of gold; and a heart of gold is a godly heart. So, let us be compassionate henceforth and not be inconsiderate to the pains of others. Beloved, when you are hurt because others hurt, and move to relieve their pains, God will fix your own problems (Matthew 6:7). Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Learn to be kind and loving because God is kind and loving to humanity too.
2. Don’t mock those who are suffering, instead, see a way to help them out of their miseries.
3. Hurt when others hurt and learn to feel the pains of others.
4. Don’t be indifferent to the plight of others, rather show some care and kindness.

Bible Verse : And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do… 1 Chronicles 12:32

LISTEN : Beloved, know your God-given purpose in life. There is time for everything, and without understanding of the time life will be wasted. (Ecclesiastics 3:1-2). Life is at risk without understanding. Understanding gives directions to life’s purpose. This is the reason why you should know your God-given purpose of existence. Find out why you are living. Know what time of your life it is presently, and what you are expected to do. My dear, to fulfill your purpose, you should live like the sons of Issachar. The sons of Issachar were said to be men who had understanding of the times, who knew what Israel ought to do. My dear, you cannot fulfill purpose unless you know how important time is to life. And life cannot be meaningfully lived without regard to the value of time. To undermined time is to undermined life itself. So, use every single time you have to better your life and that of others. Be wise!

Prayer : Blessed Father, help me to grow in wisdom and understanding in Jesus’ name, amen!
