Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4

LISTEN : The Bible says, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17). This means that, faith feeds on the word of God. The word of God is the food, strength and life of faith. Faith cannot grow where God’s word is lacking. It cannot survive where God’s word is neglected. As a matter of fact, to be empty of God’s word is to be empty of faith. Surely, faith will suffocate and die when it is denied the word of God. That is, faith shrinks or dies when it is starved of the word of the living God. My dear, faith is the foundation of your relationship with God. Without faith the Bible says, “It is impossible to please God.” (Hebrews 11:6). This shows how important faith is. You cannot have access to God without faith, and you cannot grow in faith without the word of God. Beloved, feed your faith. What physical food is to your flesh, God’s word is to your spirit. We live by the word of God not just by our physical food. So, feed your faith! How do you feed your faith? You do that by feeding on the word of God. When you purposefully read, study, meditate or listen to the word of God you are feeding your faith. And when your faith is fed and is strong and alive, you will be victorious in life. My dear, feed on the word of God because, the word of God will grow and strengthen your faith. Be wise!

Bible Verse : The LORD called out to Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. 1 Samuel 3:4

LISTEN : Samuel was but a child when God spoke to Him. He received the message from God and declared same to Eli his master. His ears were opened to the voice of God, and he was submissive to Him. My dear, how many times have you heard from God and pretend not to hear Him? Do you heed His warnings or preceeds with your own plans against His will? Do you know that God watches your response to His instructions? Therefore, don’t contend with Him like Cain did, rather submit to Him. When God called out to Cain the same way He did to Samuel and said, “Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9). Cain pleaded not guilty of the crime he knows he committed. He pretended not to know what happened to his brother, Abel. This is how most people still respond to God’s call today. They plead not guilty when they are guilty as charged. However, we all can still make peace with God today. Let us therefore, repent of our sins and surrender to God today. Be wise..

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to hear your voice anytime you call as long as I live, in Jesus’ name, amen!
