Verse Of The Day : I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage – I have conquered the world. John 16:33

LISTEN : Jesus Christ warns His disciples to not expect peace in this wicked world, but in Him alone. The world is full of evil, and only the heart that is rooted in God can survive it. Beloved, are you in distress and searching for solutions? Are you in trouble and suffering? I assure you that, you can find peace in God for your troubled heart. With the rate of crime, terror and evil in the world today, you don’t expect to experience peace if your heart is not with God. Only God can give peace to your fear-ridden heart. (Matthew 11:28-29; John 14:1). My dear, what will you do as terror seems to be the order of the day in the world? What will you do when peace is at a distance from you? Today, almost on a daily basis, people wake up to one bad news or the other. No one seems to know what to do anymore. No one seems to understand what is going on. Friend, where on earth can you find answers to your search for peace? Where can you find a resting place for your troubled heart? The answer can only be found in God. Your relationship with Jesus Christ will bless you with peace, even when all you could see is troubles. Your walk with God will keep your eyes on Him even in the midst of storm. So, to experience peace in your heart, you must first encounter God in your life. My dear, it is not possible to enjoy peace in this wicked world when your heart is not with the God of peace. Therefore, in your distress, be strong and courageous and know that God has won your battle before it ever started: expect trouble from the world and peace from God; don’t see it strange to encounter distress, rather, seek the help of God; and be fervent in prayer until God hears you. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Luke 23:34

LISTEN : A man begs his son to forgive his offender, but his son said, “Father, it is hard to do.” His father replied, “Son, you can do it if you have the fear of God.” Beloved, as humans, it is easier to forgive minor offenses, but difficult to forgive when one is badly hurt. But Jesus Christ was badly hurt, yet, He sought forgiveness and peace for those who offended Him. When He made this prayer on the cross while in pain, He had everyone of us in mind. Beloved, you were in His plan of salvation when He died on the cross. When He forgave His accusers for their ignorance, He forgave both past and future sinners. Today we are saved and blessed by His love, which is expressed in His death and forgiveness for our sins. What a wonderful Saviour we have in Jesus Christ! My dear, is there someone you have not forgiven? Since God has forgiven us, determine to forgive others too. Besides, embrace and crown Jesus Christ Lord and Saviour of your life today. Be wise!

Prayer : Precious Father, you are merciful. Therefore, help me to forgive others just as you have forgiven me, amen.
