Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God. Psalms 10:4

LISTEN : People tend to have low thoughts of God, and high thoughts of themselves. That is, they think less of God and more of themselves. This is why they consider themselves first in everything, and God comes second. As a matter of fact, they hate, despise and rebel against the instructions of God. They have no business with humility because they have no room for God in their thoughts. My dear, it is pride that makes people think low of God and high of themselves. And God hates pride, and will punish the proud accordingly. The Bible says, “Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: they shall certainly not be unpunished.” (Proverbs 16:5). Beloved, clothe yourself with humility. There is honour in humility, but pride comes with humiliation and destruction. The Bible says, “A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.” (Proverbs 29:23). Pride drags down the proud from the mountain top to the lowest of valleys; but humility takes the humble from the lowest of valleys to the mountain top. The Bible says, “Before destruction the heart of man is proud, but before honor is humility.” (Proverbs 18:12). My dear, fear the LORD and hate pride. Whatever it will cost you to kill pride in your life, do it. When you pamper and adore pride, you set yourself up against God. So, study to be humble. Humble yourself under the mighty hands of God and He will lift you up in due time. If He has lifted you up already, be humble to stay up. Be wise!

Bible Verse : For it is right for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you. 2 Thessalonians 1:6

LISTEN : There is time for everything. And those who oppress and afflict you will receive same from God. Beloved, you are precious to God, you are special and the ‘apple of His eyes’. Therefore, God will afflict those who afflicted you. He is a righteous God and will give to everyone what they have done. Our Bible verse says, “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you” (2Thesselonians 1:6). This means that, God is aware of your ordeals. He is aware of the afflictions and troubles that wicked people have put you through. All the ill treatments they meted to you the LORD is aware of them. They will certainly not escape His judgment. My dear, don’t be afraid, the LORD will vindicate, protect and preserve you. He will shame the ‘enemy’ and feed them with their own flesh and blood. Certainly, as God lives, your oppressors will be turned to the oppressed. Be wise!

Prayer : Blessed Father, I thank you for your words today. Listen to my cry for mercy and turn my troubles to a testimony, in Jesus’ name, amen.
