Verse Of The Day : Teach me your way, O LORD; I will walk in your truth: unite my heart to fear your name. Psalms 86:11

LISTEN : One Sunday morning before delivering his sermon for the day, a Pastor asks few of his church members thus : “Why are you in church today?” The first person replied, “Pastor, I am hear because today is a Sunday.” The second person said, “Sir, I am here so I could see other members of the church, because it’s been a while since I saw them.” The third person said, “Pastor, I am here because I am a committed member of this church. Besides, I was born into the church.” The fourth person said, “Pastor, I am sick. I am here to receive my healing.” The Pastor was shocked with their answers and never wanted to ask the last person. However, he reluctantly asked her and said, “Sister, what about you?” To the surprise of the Pastor, she replied, “Pastor, I am here to encounter God. I want to know Him more and more.” The Pastor was so happy that, there was still someone who knew why she was in Church. My dear, the answers in this illustration represent the lifestyle of people in Church today. Many come to God for selfish reasons. They are not in Church to encounter God through His words, but to find faults and dictate to God what He should do. They are not prepared to be led by the Spirit of God, but by self. My dear, to encounter God you must be ready to learn and appreciate His words, trust and obey Him always. The word of God is the path to life. There is no life in anyone who chooses to abandon the ways of God. Beloved, God’s way gives direction and meaning to life. His ways are the “highways” of righteousness, holiness, godliness, obedience, faith, truth, dedication, peace, love, etc. Therefore, submit to God, walk in His words and fear Him always. Be wise!

Bible Verse : By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Psalms 33:6

LISTEN : Word is the power and weapon of God. He does everything by His word. He blesses, heals, delivers, fights, and does everything by His words. To know Him we should know His word. The more we read, understand, and act on the word of God, the more we will be able to move into the powerful manifestation of His presence. Understanding and believing the word of God can equally cause us to create things through the word. The same word that worked for God can work for us because we are created in the image of God. Beloved, God’s word is spirit, hence, acting on the word of God gives spirit and life to your own words. “Faith-filled” words are vehicles for a miracle. Faith gives life to your word and turns it into something supernatural. My dear, do you declare your words in faith? Do you know your word is lifeless without faith. Henceforth, speak in line with the word of God and you will see His great manifestation in your life. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, manifest your power in me today, in Jesus’ name, amen.
