Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him even more. So when the Midianite merchants passed by, Joseph’s brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver. The Ishmaelites then took Joseph to Egypt. Genesis 37:5,28

LISTEN : Are you wondering why people hate you without a cause? And why they desperately desire to end your life even when you’ve done no wrong to them? Have you spent days, weeks, months or years, trying to figure out what went wrong that you’re hated, but couldn’t place your hands on anything? Beloved, the answer is simply. You’re hated just because of your dreams and aspirations. You’re hated like Joseph for desiring and striving to give birth to your God-given purpose. My dear, many people won’t like who you are. They don’t want you to birth the purpose of God for your life. They’ll do everything possible to assassinate your purpose, dreams and aspirations. But rather than being distracted and discouraged, determine to be hated to greatness. Every attack on you should push you closer to your goal. Determine to turn every situation into an opportunity to achieve your purpose of existence. Hatred shouldn’t stop your progress, but rather accelerate it. It shouldn’t drain your energy but increase it; it shouldn’t end the pursuit of your goal, but motivate you to a greater height. Joseph was hated, betrayed, and sold to slavery, yet, by his integrity, determination and faith in God the hatred was turned into greatness. They hated him so he could amount to nothing. The Bible says, “Come now therefore, and let us slay him… and we shall see what will become of his dreams.” (Genesis 37:20). But they couldn’t stop him, because he was determined to have his dream fulfilled even in a strange land. My dear, be strong and put your faith in God. Hatred may temporarily stagnate a good purpose, but can’t permanently stop it. So, fix your eyes on God and God will fix your problem in due time. Be wise!

Bible Verse : As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby: 1 Peter 2:2

LISTEN : People tend to be addicted to, and friendly with long phone calls, chats, browsing, etc, than they’re to studying the Bible. They hardly read a portion of the Bible daily. My dear, God’s word is life. And our spirits can’t truly survive without it, just the same way we can’t survive without physical food. No matter what, we should hunger for God’s word the way we hunger for physical food. God’s word is key to spiritual growth and maturity. Truly, we cannot attain God’s expectations if we don’t desire His words. Our Bible verse says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2:2). Therefore, to be spiritually strong and mature, we must desire God’s word the way a baby would desire his or her mother’s breast milk. Only with such desire can we be truly satisfied. (Psalms 42:1). My dear, delight in God’s word and study and meditate on it daily and your faith will surely grow. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, you’re good. I ask for grace to desire your word daily, in Jesus’ name, amen.
