Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

LISTEN : A woman asks her son this question, “Son, if Jesus Christ practically comes knocking on your door now, what will you do?” Her son replied, “Mother, I will gladly open my door to Him and leave it open even after He has gone.” My dear, in the same way, you should gladly receive Jesus into your heart. Your heart is the doorway to your life. This is why the Bible is concerned about the state of our hearts. What happens in your heart can affect your life positively or negatively. We should be conscious of what goes on in our hearts. The Bible says, “Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23). My dear, Jesus Christ is standing and knocking at the door of your heart. But one thing is certain, He is not going to stand and knock forever. Either you open your heart now and receive Him by accepting His words, or harden your heart and reject His words. Friend, there are consequences for what you do with the words of God. Now that the voice of God through His messengers is sounding loud and clear in the streets of the world, television stations, radio stations, pulpits of churches around the world, etc, you should accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life today. For anyone who cannot hear His voice and open his heart to Him has chosen to perish. But that is not God’s plan for your life. He wants to come into your life and abide with you. He wants to bless you both in this life and eternity. However, until you are willing to open your heart to Him you will lose His good plans for your life. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Never harden your heart to Jesus Christ, rather let Him in.
2. Guard your heart with all diligence and eschew evil at all costs.
3. Take pleasure in the word of God and know that God is waiting for you to let Him in.
4. Remember that Jesus Christ will not plead with you forever, and that His grace will soon be over.

Prayer : Everlasting Father, I thank you for your Son Jesus Christ. I surrender myself to you LORD, and I accept Jesus Christ today as my Lord and Saviour, amen!

Reflection : Anyone who cannot hear the voice of Christ and open his heart to Him has chosen to perish.

Quote: “Your heart is the doorway to your life, and what you do with what goes into your heart determines your success and failure.”

Faith Confession : Today, I confess that Jesus Christ is knocking at the door of our hearts through the word of God. Therefore, I will hear and obey the word of God, amen.

Biblical Fact : Did you know Nahor was the grandfather of Abraham? (Genesis 11:24-25).

Today In History : March 5, 1918 The Soviets move the capital of Russia from Petrograd to Moscow.

Stunning Fact : Did you know the tallest mammal is the giraffe?

A Word Of Blessing : It is well with you. May the Lord bless you and open your heart to the message of truth and salvation, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Bible Verse : The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Psalms 9:9

LISTEN : A boy was fighting with his older brother, not too far from where their father was. And having realised that he was no match to his older brother’s strength, he picked up a stick and hit his older brother and attempted to escape. But not too long his older brother caught up with him and beat him up. Surprisingly, their father shouted at the younger one instead of the older and said, “Where were you running to, boy? I was here to save you but you passed me and continue to run aimlessly. Can you see the consequences of ignoring me?” Sadly, this is exactly how most people live. They feel they can handle everything by themselves. They abandon God even in times of troubles. They run to places they cannot find refuge. My dear, is your life characterised by the said lifestyle? Do you think you can do without God? Why do you choose to suffer in the hands of the devil when you can run to God for help? God should be your protector. David said, “The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” (Psalms 9:9). My dear, like David, run to God and be saved. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, you are my refuge. Help me to trust in you, and run to you in times of trouble, in Jesus’ name, amen.
