Verse Of The Day : Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Luke 23:34

LISTEN : Love is the nature of God. God forgives because He loves us. God’s love is so strong that it can turn away His wrath and saves the penitent. Whom God loves He forgives and restores. His love can pacify His anger no matter what. Jesus Christ was led to the cross and crucified because of the love of God for us. He was mocked and tormented by the government of the day; yet, in His agony on the cross, He prayed to His Father to forgive the ignorance and sin of His accusers. The Bible says, “When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. And Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’ ” (Luke 23:33,34). As humans, it is easier to forgive minor offenses, but difficult to forgive when one is badly hurt. In this case, Jesus Christ was badly hurt, yet, He pleaded with the Father to forgive those who crucified Him. When He made this prayer on the cross, He had everyone of us in mind. My dear, you were in His plan of salvation when He died on the cross. When He forgave the sin of His actual accusers and crucifiers, He forgave all of us. Today we are redeemed and blessed by His love. By reason of His death we are saved and eternally blessed. What a wonderful Saviour we have in Jesus! Beloved, Jesus Christ forgave us so that we can become true children of God and have access to eternal life. Therefore, we should forgive others as well. My dear, are there people you have not forgiven? Determine to forgive them today just as God has forgiven you because of His love. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Even if he slays me, I will hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face! Job 13:15

LISTEN : Without faith it is easier to compromise one’s conviction. But a person of faith finds it unwise to lose his stand in God even when the going gets tough. Job is one of those who would not trade God for anything. He was prepared to lose his life than lose his faith in God. (Job 1:1-22 ; 2:1-10). One may ask, “how was Job able to survive his trials?” “Why was he not crushed beyond remedy?” “How was he able to remain firm in his faith in God when it is obvious that he found himself in a situation in which no progress seems possible?” “How was he able to cope with the loss of everything that was dear to him?” “Why did he not give up hope and quit his faith?” The answer is simply. In our verse of the day. Job said, “Even if he slays me, I will hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face!” (Job 13:15). Job overcame his trials because he was not ready to compromise his faith no matter what. He attached more value to his faith than anything else. Wealth or no wealth, family or no family, money or no money, popularity or no popularity, Job was determined to stick with God. Not too many people could do what Job did. He demonstrated his commitment to God. though his torments were increased more and more, so that there seems to be no hope of recovery, yet, he continued to trust God. Beloved, like Job, let us pledge our allegiance to God and hold onto our faith from start to finish. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, you are faithful and worthy to be praised. Therefore, help me to be firm in faith no matter what, amen!
