Verse Of The Day : And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad. Genesis 40:6

LISTEN : A woman who just lost her husband the previous week, went to condole with another woman who also lost her husband. The sympathizers who were present expressed shock over her unlikely visit. One of them said to her, “Woman, your life is such an inspiration to me. No one could ever believe you will be strong enough to visit anyone at this stage of your mourning period.” The woman replied, “I know that God is in control, therefore, I cannot be too sad to help others. This woman needs my encouragement. And I am here to offer that to her.” More often than not when people are sad, they tend to ignore the pain of others and concentrate on themselves instead. Our own pains often close our eyes to the pains and trials of others. We find it difficult to see opportunities to help others who are struggling with depression because we are depressed too, and therefore feel that we need the help more than others. Beloved, do not be too sad to help others who are in pain like you. When you help those who are in pain, to an extent you ease your own pain.

It takes faith, courage and determination to put a smile on someone else’s face when you are going through same thing. My dear, if you have faith in God, no circumstance is strong enough to break you beyond remedy. And no condition can keep you sad when the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of joy is in you. Our Bible verse today is about Joseph who was betrayed and sold to slavery by his brothers; and was equally framed up by Potiphar’s promiscuous wife. And as a result of her allegations, Joseph was fired by his master and imprisoned on false charges. However, he (Joseph) chose to hold onto God and his integrity. Because of his faith in God, his trials could not affect his mood (he was joyful no matter what). In the prison where he was supposed to be sad and miserable, he was able to help his cellmates (Pharaoh’s butler and baker) in their sad mood and confused state. Beloved, no matter your problems, you can still be a solution to someone else’s problems. Never be too sad to help. When you encourage someone who knows you are also facing a similar or more difficult problem, you give them reasons to live again, and to believe that everything will be fine. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God… 1John 3:1

LISTEN : God’s love is immeasurable and beyond compare. He loves us even when we are stained and soaked in sin. He cleansed our sins with the precious blood of His sinless son Jesus Christ, and therefore declares us “not guilty.” He judges, regards, and treats us as righteous and worthy of salvation and eternal life. Truly, only the love of God can justify sinners; and whom the Lord justifies no one can bring any charge against. If you accept Jesus Christ today you are a new person. Old things are passed away and all things are now new in your life. (2 Corinthians 5 :17). Beloved, God wants you to embrace and believe what Jesus Christ has done for you. He wants you to walk in faith and knowledge of your new identity. Never allow Satan or the guilt of your past life to condemn you. Your faith in Christ has made you whole. You may have been seen as the worst of sinners, but by your faith in Christ everything has changed. You cannot be condemned anymore because Christ is standing as your lawyer against every accusation. The Bible says, “Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died and more than that, he was raised, who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.” (Romans 8:33-34). Beloved, embrace God’s everlasting love and you will not be eternally condemned. Remember, God loves you more than you can ever imagine. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, I thank you because you love us. Help me to appreciate and reciprocate your love, in Jesus’ name, amen.
