Verse Of The Day : I look up toward the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Creator of heaven and earth! Psalms 121:1-2

LISTEN : Life is frustrating and unpleasant when everyone stays far away from you because of your condition. It really hurts when no one offers to help you in times of troubles. But when friends, relatives and acquaintances abandon you, that is not the end of life. There is one person who still cares about you, His name is the Almighty God. He is our help, for we have no help in this wicked world without Him. Therefore, no matter what happens, our eyes should be on Him. He never disappoints anyone who hopes on Him. Beloved, it is important to put your trust in God, because, those who fixed their eyes on God by faith will conquer their fears and worries (Isaiah 56:11); overcome discouragement and depression (Isaiah 41:10) , get revived (Isaiah 40:31), receive divine assistance, and obtain victory over enemies (Psalms 144:1). Friend, learn to seek God’s help. David said, “I look up toward the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Creator of heaven and earth!” (Psalms 121:1-2). My dear, seek the help of God. That is, seek His presence, exercise faith in Him and offer your prayers to Him. He answers prayers! Therefore, carry your concerns and questions to Him. He has answers to all of them. (1Peter 5:7). He will help you through the Holy Spirit and encouragement from scriptures. God is willing to help you if you are willing to ask Him for help. But if you ignore Him, He will ignore you. So, seek the help of God and human’s disappointments will not break your heart anymore. Be wise!

Bible Verse : The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the LORD, and the LORD will repay him for his good deed. Proverbs 19:17

LISTEN : Poverty is not a crime but a condition. God is a good God and wants us to be good to all people. Therefore, we should not hate or despise the poor. We should not dehumanise them because they are poor. Rather as a God fearing person, you should be generous to them knowing that God sees everything we do. The Bible says that the poor will not cease in the land (Deut 15:11); therefore, they should be graciously assisted by all. We should show some pity to those who are destitute and hurting. We should give to others to relieve their pains. God has variously shown us His favours. Therefore, we should extend same to others. We should stop being selfish and begin to be sacrificial. Friend, the day you stop to live just for yourself is the day you have started to live for God. Learn to always consider the poor and needy. God is concerned about them, and so should we. Give to others what you will want them give to you. Jesus Christ said, “In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfill the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12) . Beloved, how will you like others to treat you? Treat them like that too. Be compassionate to the poor, for what you do for them you do to God. Surely, God will repay what you give up to make others comfortable, especially the poor and needy. Learn to be gracious, because being gracious is a mark of godliness. It is an expression of the nature of God. So, let us help those who are in need as we have the opportunity today. Be wise!

1. Thank God for keeping you alive and safe today.
2. Ask the Lord to forgive your sins and restore your relationship with Him.
3. Ask God for spirit of kindness and generosity towards others.
4. Thank Him for answering your prayer.

May the Lord bless you. May God give you the heart to love and help others; and may His blessings locate you for your kindness and obedience, in Jesus’ name, amen.
