Verse Of The Day : Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:5

LISTEN : Yesterday I said we shall be looking at what it means to have the mind of Christ and the benefits of putting on the mind of Christ. God cannot urge us to think and live like His son Jesus Christ if He does not mean to bless us. When we think like Jesus Christ, the interest of God becomes our interest, His desire becomes our pursuit. And when we pursue what makes Him happy, He will give in return what makes us happy. The Bible says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33). Beloved, to have the mind of Christ is to think and act like Him. It is to express through your life what Christ truly represents. So, to please God we should put on the mind of Christ. Like Him, we should have a heart of sacrifice (Philippians 2:6,7 ; Matthew 16:24) ; humility (Philippians 2:8) , heart of obedience, love and forgiveness, kindness, and above all, we should have a God- centered relationship. When your life is lived for God, His blessings will be released to you. You will experience divine love and favour (John 15:10) ; divine promotion (Philippians 2:8-11), divine attention and protection (Psalms 91:14,15), life and divine health (Psalms 91:16 ; Exodus 15:26) ; and ultimately, eternal life (1John 5:13). Eternal life is God’s plan for humanity. That is the reason why Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead. Friend, let us take the pain of spreading the good news of God’s kingdom today. Those who suffer for Christ will not be forgotten. The Bible says, If we suffer, we shall also reign with [Him]. If we deny [Him], He also will deny us. (2 Timothy 2 :12). Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Be sacrificial towards others and live in obedience to God.
2. Put on humility and resist the spirit of pride and inhumanity.
3. Stop being self-centered and start being God-centered.
4. Learn to love others unconditionally and freely forgive your offenders.

Prayer: Almighty God, I thank you for your love and forgiveness. Help me to live the new life in Christ Jesus henceforth, amen.

Reflection : God cannot urge us to think and live like His son Jesus Christ if He does not mean to bless us.

Quote : “When we pursue what makes God happy, He will give in return what makes us happy.”

Faith Confession : Today, I confess that putting on the mind of Christ will produce the blessings of God. Therefore, I will put on the mind of Christ as long as I live, amen.

Bible Verse : But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. Psalms 1:2

LISTEN : The word of God is for our good. Those who cherish the word of God are transformed into the image of God. The word of God is a refiner. It brings the best in a person by shaping the character of the person involved. Because God’s word is pure, it purifies anyone who values it. The Bible says thus : “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” (Psalms 12:6). Yes! The word of God revives, refreshes and reforms people. The Bible says, The law of the Lord is good, giving new life to the soul: the witness of the Lord is certain, giving wisdom to the foolish” (Psalms 19:7 BBE). Truly, when the word of God is highly esteemed in a person’s life, transformation will occur; a sinner will be changed into a saint, hope will be given to the hopeless, bitterness will be turned to sweetness ; and shame will be turned into glory. Besides, God’s word is a way maker. It gives directions and enable those who esteem it to be successful and prevail in life. God commanded Joshua to highly esteem His word, and therefore assured him of success if he continuously study and meditate in His word. The Bible says thus: “Let this book of the law be ever on your lips and in your thoughts day and night, so that you may keep with care everything in it; then a blessing will be on all your way, and you will do well.” (Joshua 1:8 BBE). Beloved, how much do you love God’s word? Henceforth, grow your love for God and His words, and He will make you to succeed where others failed. Be wise!

1. In few minutes, worship God and thank Him for His love towards you.
2. Pour out your heart to Him and ask for forgiveness, mercy and restoration.
3. Ask God to give you a heart of love for His word.
4. Pray against every evil designed against you, and destroy demonic altars.

May God bless you. May the Lord guide your heart to love His word now and forever, in Jesus’ name, amen.
