Authors: Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day: Above all, keep your love for one another fervent, because love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

LISTEN: Forgiveness is possible with love. People struggle to forgive others because love is absent in their hearts. A heart that is bankrupt of love will be bankrupt of forgiveness. But no matter the offence, forgiveness is always available where love reigns. Beloved, love is the cure for all manner of evil and inhumane treatment in the world. Love is the balm that soothes the hurting and offended (Luke 17:3-4): it is the chord that binds us together even when those we love break our hearts. My dear, with love, no matter how offended or hurt you might be, you can still forgive others for christ’ sake, knowing that God forgave us through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son. (Matthew 6:14-15). Beloved, are you hurt by a friend, colleague, your parents, your spouse, your relatives, etc., and therefore have sworn not to forgive? Have you been mistreated or rejected by others? And therefore, you have decided to avenge yourself? Never mind! Just allow love to rule in your heart, and God will surely vindicate you in due course. My dear, love heals all wounds, kills all pains and covers multitude of sins. Love is powerful, and more powerful than you think. Therefore, when you are offended, remember that forgiveness is possible with love. When someone hurts you, rather than respond with same evil, learn to listen to the healing voice of love and you will be moved to forgive others. So, be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Never allow the desire for vengeance destroy the power of love in you.
2. Always resist the spirit of bitterness and learn to love with the whole of your heart.
3. When you are hurt, do not hurt others in return, rather allow love to reign in your life.
4. When you are offended do not keep grudges, instead, tell it to your offender and let go of it.

Reflection: When we forgive we love, and when we love we forgive.

Quote: “Forgiveness is a product of love ; and a heart that is bankrupt of love will be bankrupt of forgiveness.”

Faith Confession : Today, I confess with my mouth, that I will love, because God is love. I will forgive because I have equally received forgiveness for my sins, amen.

Bible Verse : You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3

LISTEN : Let us serve the living God because worship belongs to Him. God is supreme, and He is the creator of the universe, hence, should be revered by all. (Luke 4:8). We should accord Him the honour that is due Him. His glory must not be given to another. We must not offer reverence or devote our respect to things that are not God (money, fame, beauty, power, humans, etc.). Nothing is worthy of God’s glory other than God Himself. This is why He warned the Israelites and we by extension, against worshipping other gods. The Bible says, “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3). God’s commandment to them was to worship only Him. That is, they must not worship any other god. When people worship other gods other than the living God, He is provoked. God does not take it lightly when He is denied of His honour and glory. He is provoked when something else takes the first place in our hearts. Beloved, is God the first in your life? If He is not, What has taken the place of God in your heart? Whatever takes the place of God in your heart has caused you to enthrone Satan instead of God. My dear, remember that worship belongs to God and be prepared to give Him His place in your life. When God is given the first place in your life, He will include you in His own plans. So, serve Him because He is the living God and worthy of our worship. Be wise!

1. Bless God for today no matter what.
2. Ask God for forgiveness, and grace to follow His will.
3. Pray for wisdom to acknowledge and serve Him as the true God. .
4. Intercede for believers in Christ around the world for grace to love God.
5. Pray against spiritual wickedness, and ask God to keep you safe.

Today I prophesy to you, may you acknowledge and worship God as the only true God, in Jesus’ name, amen.
