Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : In those days Hezekiah was stricken with a terminal illness. He prayed to the LORD, who answered him and gave him a sign confirming that he would be healed. But Hezekiah was ungrateful; he had a proud attitude, provoking God to be angry at him, as well as Judah and Jerusalem. 2 Chronicles 32:24-25

LISTEN : God is good to all. It is a fact that no right thinking person can deny. The Bible says, “For in him we live and move about and exist… “ (Acts 17:28). Friends, we owe our lives to God and therefore should render thanks to Him. When we fail to thank God for benefits received, we are just expressing ingratitude to Him. God is angry with ingrates. Those who neglect to appreciate the Lord’s goodness will certainly attract His wrath. In our Bible verse today, we read that King Hezekiah was terminally ill. He prayed to God and God healed him. But he took God for granted. He was ungrateful to Him. He failed to thank God for His mercy, instead he was proud in his heart. He esteemed lightly the mercy of God. And the consequences of his action was the wrath of God upon him and his people. The Bible says, “But Hezekiah was ungrateful; he had a proud attitude, provoking God to be angry at him, as well as Judah and Jerusalem.” (2 Chronicles 32:25). Beloved, are you really grateful to God for all He has done for you? Do you have a grateful heart? Beloved, a grateful heart will surely attract the favour of a great God. Your gratitude to God will determine what He will do, or not do for you. As you read this devotional today, pause for a moment and reflect on the goodness of God and give thanks to Him for all He has done for you, for others, and ultimately for our salvation and hope of eternal life. Bible Verse : The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14

LISTEN: God fights our battles and give the victory to us. Life is full of endless battles. Most times we are empty of strength to handle them. We often faint and fall in the midst of these battles because our strength cannot handle them as we should. My dear, there are things you cannot overcome without divine help. Humans are limited in many ways therefore, we need the help of God to be able to overcome these battles. When we invite God to fight our battles, He will certainly frustrate, humiliate and dislodge the devil. The Bible says, “The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name”. (Exodus 15:3). When Pharaoh of Egypt decided to torture the Israelites and to continuously retain them as slaves against God’s will. God moved into action and eventually delivered them because He is a man of war. At the Red Sea when they (Israelites) were confused and afraid of the Egyptians who were relentlessly pursuing to recapture them; Moses spoke to them by the command of God and said, ”The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace”. (Exodus 14:14). Beloved, I have a good news for you. The LORD will fight for you this season, and you will watch Him in amazement as He delivers you in Jesus’ name. Henceforth, do not fight alone, rather invite God and your victory is sure. Remember, God fights our battles. So, learn to rely on Him. Be wise!

1. Glorify God for today no matter what.
2. Ask God for forgiveness, and grace to be committed to Him.
3. Pray God for divine help in your battles today.
4. Intercede for the traumatised, afflicted and oppressed around the world.
5. Pray against all sorts of evil designed against you, and ask God to keep you safe.

May God fight your battles for you. May He keep you from shame and defeat, in Jesus’ name, amen.
