Author: Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day: For “physical exercise has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4: 8
LISTEN: Physical exercise produces physical fitness. In the same way, spiritual exercise produces spiritual fitness. Truly, having a regular physical exercise routine that you follow can benefit in some ways. We all know that exercise helps us to strengthen our muscles, burn off fats, build up our heart, and keep us in good shape and form. This is why it is said in the scripture that exercise has some value. However, its value cannot compare the value of exercising for godliness. (1 Timothy 4:8 ; Mark 8:36 Malachi 3:14-18). Many of us have regular exercise routine that we follow, but do not have a regular faith routine that can provoke us to godliness. Godliness simply means, to live in a godly way; in a way that pleases God. What physical exercise is to our body, is what faith routine is to our spiritual life. The benefits of strengthening our faith are much greater than anything else, because the effects are eternal. Exercising ourselves to be godly helps shape our characters, keep us from bad habits and evil practices which are harmful to our health and wellbeing. Godliness is the only guarantee for divine protection in a wicked world. (Psalms 91:14-16). Many have destroyed their health and ruin their lives through reckless living. Beloved, learn to be godly. The benefits of godliness is both for this life and the life to come. This means that godliness will guide you to live wisely here on earth. It will help you to stay away from sin and its consequences; it will equally cause you to honour, worship and revere God, and prepare you for eternity. So, exercise yourself to be godly. Be wise!

TOPIC: FEAR GOD AND DEPART FROM EVIL
Bible Verse : And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28
LISTEN : God is happy and honoured when we fear Him and eschew evil. God loves us and wants us to love Him in return; and there is no better way to appreciate Him than to fear, obey, worship and honour Him. Sadly, people tend to fear men than fear God. The fear of God is fast disappearing from the hearts of men today. A higher percentage of younger people in the world are no longer interested in spiritual things, but rather in mundane things. They are not interested in God, but in material things and how to please their own body. Beloved, God created us and should be worshipped. Friend, where is the fear of God in your heart? If God is your creator, where is His honour? God was angry with the Israelites for their lack of fear and honour for Him. They were willing to fear men, than fear God. Beloved, do you know that human wisdom is measured by the fear of God? (Job 29:29 ; Pro 9:10). Anyone who lacks the fear of God is empty of real life. Beloved, always examine your fear for God. How much fear and love do you have for God? Are you putting His interest above yours? Or yours above His? Joseph, though, a slave boy in Potiphar’s house in Egypt, yet, demonstrated the fear of God when his master’s wife asked to sleep with him. He clearly refused and said, “…how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Gen 39:9). My dear, determine to honour and obey God always; and do not forget to fear Him and depart from evil. Be wise!
1. Thank the Lord for today and the gift of life.
2. Ask God for forgiveness and restoration.
3. Pray for wisdom to fear and honour God.
4. Pray and cancel every evil plot against you.
A WORD OF BLESSING
Today, I prophesy over your life, may God give you a heart of wisdom, honour and fear for Him in Jesus’ name, amen.
