Verse Of The Day: Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil have not seen God. 3 John 1:11

LISTEN: Humans have the tendency to follow what is evil, because the human nature finds it difficult to do good. (Romans 7:14-25). The presence and “pleasure” of sin has made it hard for the flesh to delight in doing the will of God. However, when we walk in the Spirit we will find it joyful and a delight to follow what is good, than follow what is evil. The path of goodness is the path of life. Jesus Christ is the path that leads to life. His ways are the paths of righteousness, holiness, goodness, love, peace, and the likes. Besides, his love prevents us from following the wrong path and missing the will of God for our lives. Sadly, most people are yet confused today about what to do to stay safe and godly in this wicked world. They are confused about who to follow, or what to do to avoid the devil’s ‘traps.’ Satan has made these traps very hard to discover if not for the help of God. He has fashioned his traps to appear enticing, and they come in form of pleasure, favour, popularity, wealth, temptation, etc. Many who are ignorant of his schemes have ended up in his trap. That is why a lot of people who started as obedient, committed and loyal children of God are now ending up as disobedient and uncommitted folks to Him. However, if we are wise enough, we cannot fall prey to the devil. Beloved, the devil can only enslave those who reject the leadership of God. Anyone who surrenders sincerely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ cannot continue to remain a slave to Satan. (John 5:24). So, to escape Satan’s traps, you should hear and obey the word of God. This means that, you should watch, examine and prove every idea, principle, opinion, trend, belief, etc., before accepting to act on, or adopt them as your own standards. You must not do anything just because everyone else is doing it, rather you should do it because you have proven it to be the perfect and acceptable will of God (Ephesians 5:10). Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Always prove the acceptable will of God in everything before you do.
2. Determine to follow what is good and avoid what is bad.
3. Be obedient and loyal to God at all times no matter what.
4. Open your eyes to the tricks of the devil and avoid his destructive enticement.

Prayer: Blessed Father, I thank you for a day like this. You are holy and loves holiness; therefore, help me to hear and obey your word, and escape eternal condemnation, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection: The only way to escape Satan’s traps is to hear and obey the word of God. Those who obey and believe the word of God will never again be condemned.

Bible Verse : But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Phil. 4:19

LISTEN: God knows our needs and will not fail to provide for us. He is rich in glory, and the entire world belongs to Him. God is our Father and Provider. He created us and knows what we need, and will provide us with our needs. God will not leave us destitute, He will surely provide for us. No doubt, we labour and make investments, but God is the one who gives the increase. If God does not bless the works of our hands it cannot prosper. God has given us the assurance of divine provision. If we can ask Him for it He will supply us with the necessary provisions. (Matthew 7:7,8). We must learn to trust Him with our daily needs and be confident that He will not forsake us. His supply includes all our needs, not just some needs. God is the source of all good gifts and provisions. (James 1:17). Whatever we have achieved, we achieved by grace, not by our strength. Beloved, think deep and you will realise that God’s hand is in everything. Do you know that even the smallest piece of bread you just ate could be traceable to God? So, stop worrying about what to eat, drink or wear, instead, trust God to honour the works of your hands. He will surely bless you with divine provisions. Remember, He is a faithful provider. Be wise!

1. Pray and bless God for provision and protection.
2. Ask God for forgiveness and mercy.
3. Ask God to bless you with daily provision and support.
4. Pray and destroy all satanic plans against you, your family and the churches of God.
5. Pray for peace of mind, good sleep and faith to be saved.

May the Lord bless you and provide for your needs. May you not borrow to eat, but lend to others. May this night bring you joy, peace and rest, in Jesus’ name, amen.
