Verse of The Day : Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They did not believe his word. Psalms 106:24
Thought of The Day: Where God’s word is despised His blessings are consequently forfeited.
LISTEN: God has good plans for everyone. His plan is to give us a glorious future full of blissful experiences. No matter what we face in life, it can’t negate His good plans for us. He makes all things work together for good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). In Israelites’ trying moments in captivity, God through Prophet Jeremiah declared to them a prosperous future saying, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.“ (Jeremiah 29:11). Sadly, they doubted God just the same way their fathers did in the wilderness. They doubted the possibility of God bringing them to a land flowing with milk and honey. Even when Moses and Joshua variously persuaded them, they were reluctant to possess the good land. Worse than that, they despised the land and doubted the promise of God. Our verse of the day says,
“Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They did not believe his word.”
When people doubt the word of God, they make themselves vulnerable to His wrath. Those who doubted Him were wasted in the wilderness. Since they don’t believe in possessing the good land (Canaan), God marked them unfit to enter the land of Canaan.
Beloved, are you like the rebellious ones among the children of Israel? Do you despise God’s plans for your life? Never forget that, you can’t be blessed by what you despise. God’s choice is the best for you. Hence, to reject His word is to reject divine direction and guidance. My dear, watch your actions! Never follow a wrong crowd; for when you do, you’ll surely miss your way and spend your life in regret. Remember, where God’s word is despised His blessings are consequently forfeited. Be wise!
